Yong Shin was raised in a family of physicians. His father, an ENT (otolaryngologist), first inspired him to be a healthcare professional. Yong had a special interest in the integrative health medicine in college. After finishing college he started his career as a reflexologist and herbal consultant; after which he went on to earn an acupuncture and herbs license in California. After graduation, he was trained for pain specialty under both Eastern and Western doctors. He has cultivated years of experience working with orthopedic pain and spine specialists throughout his career. Now, Yong firmly believes that acupuncture can be the missing puzzle piece for his patient's pain management. He is proud to serve the community of Richmond Virginia through his work at Providence Acupuncture Clinic.

In his leisure time, Yong enjoys time with his wife and two sons. He especially appreciates playing golf with his family on the weekends. He has served in multiple international medical mission trips to South America in Mexico and Peru.

Yong is nationally certified by the NCCAOM and licensed by the the Virginia Board of Medicine and the California Acupuncture Board. Yong was appointed advisor of the Acupuncture Board of Virginia in 2024. His undergraduate was in Biology at UCLA and Masters was in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Yosan University.

Robb is a born-and-raised Virginian whose passion for holistic healing began long before he entered clinical practice. A lifelong interest in medicinal plants, herbal medicine, Asian philosophy, and Chinese martial arts first introduced him to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After personally experiencing the transformative benefits of acupuncture and Chinese medicine as a patient, he felt called to dedicate his career to helping others achieve greater health, balance, and wellbeing.

Robb is nationally board-certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Metropolitan State University and later completed his Master’s degree in Chinese Medicine at Northwestern Health Sciences University. To further deepen his clinical training and understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Robb also completed advanced studies at Henan University of Chinese Medicine.

Robb takes an integrative and patient-centered approach to care, blending traditional acupuncture techniques with a deep appreciation for the body’s natural ability to heal. He is committed to helping patients feel listened to, empowered, and supported throughout their wellness journey. In addition to acupuncture, Robb is a certified Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT) provider, offering specialized treatment for allergies and sensitivities.

He believes that healing is not simply the absence of symptoms, but the restoration of balance, vitality, and quality of life.

“Life-long interests in both medicinal plants and Asian philosophies led me to look into Chinese medicine as a patient. Discovering just how ‘good’ I could feel, I knew I needed to explore this approach as a practitioner. Since making that decision, I’ve never looked back.”
— Robb Jones, L.Ac.

Outside the clinic, Robb enjoys spending time outdoors camping and hiking, tending to his garden, reading, and exploring nature with his spirited rescue dog, Indie Anna.

Karen is an experienced licensed massage therapist with a healthcare background that expands 20 + yrs. Her love for helping others in addition to always being told she has a caring spirit and a caring touch, are the inspiration for her interest in the massage profession. In 2017 she challenged herself and studied Massage Therapy at Cortiva Institute in Connecticut.
Life's journey has made Virginia an important place on her quest for knowledge. During her studies she came across an article published by the Mayo clinic that resonated with her spirit; "Massage: Get In Touch With It's Many Benefits." The article expressed how massage could relieve pain, depression, stiffness in the body and stress. She was intrigued by learning one could lower blood pressure, manage anxiety, boost ones immune system and aid in cancer treatments through the power of touch.

During downtime Karen enjoys family, friends and nature. She enjoys collecting rocks and seashells.  She has learned during her studies, "Massage is an Ancient Healing Art" and it has been viewed as an important part to virtually every system in the body.

Her life experiences, the continuing education and evolution for the art of touch, are what make massage therapy the perfect career choice for Karen.

Marlo’s journey into acupuncture began at an early age as she watched her grandparents struggle with chronic health conditions. Their experiences sparked a deep passion for compassionate, holistic healthcare and inspired her lifelong commitment to helping others heal naturally.

Since beginning her practice in 2009, Marlo has helped patients find relief from a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, menopause, infertility, autoimmune disorders, insomnia, digestive concerns, anxiety, and depression. She is especially passionate about women’s health, hormone balance, stress management, digestive wellness, and pain relief.

Her approach combines acupuncture with traditional Tui-Na massage, cupping therapy, and personalized lifestyle guidance focused on nutrition, exercise, stress reduction, and overall wellness. Marlo believes true healing comes from identifying and treating the root cause of imbalance rather than simply masking symptoms. She is dedicated to creating a calm, welcoming space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey.

Marlo is nationally board-certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed by both the Virginia and Florida Boards of Medicine. She earned her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine, where she later served as an Adjunct Professor and Clinical Supervisor, mentoring future acupuncture practitioners.

Before relocating to Virginia, Marlo owned and operated a successful acupuncture clinic in Orlando, building a reputation for compassionate care and personalized treatment.

Outside the clinic, Marlo enjoys weightlifting with her husband, scuba diving, cooking healthy meals, and traveling the world in search of new experiences and cultures.
